What can you do online?
- Check account balances & recent transactions
- View / print statements
- Apply for a Current Account with Mastercard Debit-card
- Manage your Debit Card
- Transfer funds within your own account
- Transfer funds to other accounts within WCU
- Transfer funds electronically to another financial institution
- Pay bills
- Make a lodgement to your account using your Debit Card
- Calculate loan repayments
- Apply for a loan
- Download documents (e.g: Amend or cancel Standing Order forms)
How to register for Online Banking
Step 1: Go to our website: www.waterfordcu.ie
Step 2: Click on ‘Online Banking’
Step 3: Select ‘Register Now’
Step 4: Fill in the required details (account number / Name / D.O.B / Contact number / email address) – You will also need to create a Username and Password
Step 5: Click on ‘I’m not a robot’ and complete as required
Step 6: Click Register
- A pop-up box with a confirmation should appear – if this does not appear double check the information you have entered, if any of the boxes appear red or with an error message you will need to repeat the above steps
Step 7: After you register a member of staff will contact you to verify your identity – Once we have been in contact you will receive an 8-digit Pin by SMS
*If we are unable to contact you within 30 days your registration will expire and you will need to repeat the process
**In order to process your registration your Photographic ID (Passport/Driving Licence) and Proof of Address (Utility Bill/Bank Statement) need to be up to date on your account, if they are not we will request these from you before PIN can be issued.**
How to log on to Online Banking
Below steps 7&8 are for your 1st Log on only to the Online Banking via our website
Step 1: Go to our website: www.waterfordcu.ie
Step 2: Click on ‘Online Banking’
Step 3: Enter Username (created at registration)
Step 4: Click on Logon
Step 5: Enter your Password (created at registration)
Step 6: Click Continue
- A box will appear so you can request a “One Time Passcode”
- Click on the Green Box – Generate One Time Passcode
- A 4 Digit code will be sent to your mobile
- Enter this code in the box
- Then click the Green Box to accept this One Time Passcode, this will bring you into your main account screen.
*Step 7: Enter your 8-digit PIN number (received via text message after registration). First log on only
*Step 8: Create a “memorable word” – security feature in case you forget your password. First log on only
After the 1st log on to your online account via our website and you wish to use the App after that please follow the steps below:
Step 1: Go to your App Store or Play Store and Download our App “Waterford Credit Union”
Step 2: For Waterford Credit Union App log in steps for first log in are as above (logging in on the website) only without creating a memorable word.
Step 3: After the first log-on on the App you will then be given the option to set up fingerprint/facial recognition. (provided you have one of these options already set up on your phone – if not you can continue to log in with your Username and Password).
Frequently asked Questions
What do I do if I forget my username?
- Check the automated email you received straight after our registration; this will have your username.
- Or; go to waterfordcu.ie, click on Online Banking, click “forgot username?” this will send your Username to you by email.
What do I do if I forget my password?
- Go to waterfordcu.ie, click on Online Banking, click “forgot password?” For this you will need to enter your memorable word (created at first log on).
- If you can not remember your memorable word, contact WCU by phone or email and we can issue you with a new password.
What is my PIN/OTP?
- Your Pin number will be an 8-digit number sent by text when your registration is first put through (you will only need this the first time you log on)
- The OTP is a 4-digit One Time Passcode, you will receive a new one each time you log on via the website, or the app (if you are not set up with fingerprint/facial recognition)
I am getting “an error has occurred” after entering my OTP?
- Your Username or password may be wrong – go back to the start and log in again. If it is still incorrect contact WCU by phone or email and we can verify/re-issue your details for you.
- If you received more than one OTP for the same log on attempt you may have double-clicked or clicked twice on the “generate OTP” button. Click cancel this authorisation and go back to the start.
What do I do if my account has been suspended?
- Contact WCU by phone or email to re-activate your online account.
- We can also re-issue your details for you if needed.
- Do not re-register.
