1. Free Day to Day banking

Did you know, most day-to-day banking services are free at Waterford Credit Union? Set up a new Direct Debit, amend an existing one or cancel for free. Other free services include:

2. Current Account and Debit Card

Waterford Credit Union offers a full Current Account with MasterCard Debit Card®. You can operate a full-service current account, which is separate from your savings or loan accounts. The debit MasterCard® gives instant access to money in your current account through a globally accepted debit card, contact-less payments and most recently the addition of Google, Apple and Fitbit Pay. There are concessions available for students* and seniors.

Waterford Credit Union – a real and beneficial alternative to your bank.

*Members aged between 16-25 and in full-time education are exempt from the monthly maintenance fee.

*16-17 year olds require parental/guardian consent.

You can sign up for a current account in branch or online (when logged in to your online banking). Find out more about our current account here.

*In order to be eiligable to apply for a current account/debit card/overdraft you need to be a member of Waterford Credit Union and resident in the Republic of Ireland.

3. Online and Mobile Banking

You can register for CU Online+ on our website and access it 24 hours a day, free of charge.

It’s quick, it’s easy, and it puts you in control.

What can you do online?

Check account balances & recent transactions
View / print statements
Apply for Current Account/ Debit card
Transfer money
Pay bills
Calculate loan repayments
Apply for a loan

Mobile App

‘Waterford Credit Union’ app can be downloaded from the ‘App Store’ using an iPhone or Google ‘Play Store’ on Android.

Simply search ‘Waterford Credit Union’.

When logging in via the Waterford Credit Union app (after the first log in) members can set the facial recognition/fingerprint option if they have these options available on their phone.

Your log in details will be the same for the online banking and mobile app. Register here for online banking.

4. Flexible Student Loans

We understand how expensive student life can be – the fees, books/laptops, not to mention accommodation costs. So, if you’re leaving the nest for the first time to embark on your third level journey, or you’re returning to try something new, talk to Waterford credit union about a flexible student loan today. 5. Scholarships

John Hume Scholarship – what is it?

Applicable to 1st Year Students at School of Business, South East Technological University.

Waterford Credit Union and St. Dominic Credit Union have joined forces to offer one lucky student €1,000 per year of any degree course they undertake in the Business School at South East Technological University.

Closing date for applications: 1st September 2023 (no applications will be accepted after 5pm on 1st September 2023)
